Dear Friend,
So many of you have shared that you or loved ones are undergoing some of the most challenging circumstances you’ve ever had to face. Accordingly, I’ve devoted this newsletter to offering some psychic insights for working with the life experiences which form our curriculum for soul growth in Earth School.
As planetary energies continue to accelerate rapidly—what I’ve chosen to call the “quickening”—more intense and frequent Earth changes —such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes—are becoming the “new normal.” In synchronicity with this, our growth opportunities for dealing with these outer events—and a commensurate level of inner events in us and in our personal reality—will be accelerating in intensity and frequency as well.
In 1997, on the day that Ram Dass experienced a massive stroke, he had just received back a rejected manuscript on the subject of aging with the comment that it was too “glib and lacked depth.” As he wrestled with how he might reach deeper and make his writing more visceral and less speculative: Wham!
Now, I’m not sharing this story to scare anyone, but rather to illustrate how POWERFUL our thoughts and feelings can be in manifesting our personal reality—especially now that we’re in the quickening and the speed of manifestation is cutting through the density of the Earth Plane much faster than ever before.
This means that the more conscious and awake we are, the more vigilant we need to be in taking responsibility for indulging in negative thoughts and feelings—even ambivalence on a subtle level—about ourselves and our curriculum.
When meditating on this theme, Sting’s lyrics kept coming to mind, only sung by the Lords of Karma:
“Every breath you take, Every move you make, Every bond you break, Every step you take, I’ll be watching you. Every single day, Every word you say, Every game you play, Every night you stay, I’ll be watching you. Every move you make, Every vow you break, Every smile you fake, Every claim you stake, I’ll be watching you.”
If your response to these lyrics is “Oy vey!” or some variation of this, I totally empathize. But, the truth is, we are here to heal our karma, evolve and grow spiritually, and learn how to become co-creators with All That Is. And the next level of the Earth Game—which has arrived— is all about taking responsibility for how we choose to embrace our curriculum in an empowering way. We DO have free will—which means we can choose to surrender and accept our life lessons gracefully NOW—or we can postpone going for the growth and, by default, get a do-over in future incarnations ad infinitum until we get with the program.
Recently, during a darshan (spiritual meeting) with Amma (the hugging saint, amma.org), she related a teaching story about a man who was rushing to catch a plane that would take him to a place he had always dreamed of going and had saved his whole life to pay for. On the way there, he got hungry and stopped at a restaurant for food, but the prices were so exorbitant that, if he paid the price listed, he wouldn’t have enough money left over for his plane fare. He spent so much time squabbling and bargaining to get the price of the food lowered that, by the time he arrived at the airport, he had missed his flight.
After hearing this story, I looked down at my hugging-line ticket, which said, “EZ,” and decided, with a smile, that the Universe had given me a pass on waiting all night for a hug from Amma. When I got home and went to sleep, I had a dream in which I was rushing all night to get somewhere, clutching my “EZ-pass” in my hand. When I arrived, it was a waiting room at an airport that was crammed with thousands of people ahead of me. I received another ticket there, on which was written the number “116.” Then I woke up and realized that I had rushed through my whole journey to get to the anteroom whose final destination was death. I also intuitively grasped that it would be a long wait with that high a number, age-wise.
So, whether you identity more with the man who spent so much time sweating the small stuff that he missed attaining his mission in life—or more with my dream self, who was so goal oriented that I went rushing towards I knew not what, without ever enjoying the journey—or a little bit of both—the point is ultimately the same.
We all have an EZ-pass to dropping our bodies—sometimes sooner, sometimes later. But how we choose to embrace and be present in each moment—regardless of WHAT is on our plates—determines our destiny. My new mantra, said many times each day no matter what is going on, is “priceless, priceless, priceless” with a deep breath and a smile.

So, just because our souls have chosen to work on healing karma through our bodies, it doesn’t mean that we’ve created the roots of dis-ease in this life on a conscious personality level. One of the keys in mastering our karmic challenges is keeping in mind our true identity: we’re multidimensional Beings having a human incarnation. As such, based on our perspective, we can choose to reside in almost infinite levels of heaven or hell—right here and right now. I try to remember to choose to be in heaven all the time . . . but sometimes I forget!
In closing, wishing us all a built-in reminder to choose the “heaven” channel as the screen for our perceptions. It makes taking in our karmic curriculum all the sweeter.
