Why is This Happening to Me? Body Karma Explained
Dear One,
Happy Spring, at long last! If you’ve been wondering why you haven’t received any newsletters from me in quite a while or seen any bi-monthly astrological posts on my Facebook page, it’s because I’ve been dealing with an escalating number of what I call FGOs (F**kin Growth Opportunities) over the last few months.
From a personal astrological perceptive, I was already prepared for some challenges this winter as I’m in the midst of a year-long T-square between transiting Karmic Teacher Saturn with my Libran Sun and Moon in Cancer in the 6th house of health. This is one of the reasons I chose to stay close to home this year and not plan any major traveling adventures.
But in addition to this, we are all experiencing a rare and momentous planetary event that only occurs every fifty years: The transit of Master Healer Chiron, a minor planet or asteroid, through the final degrees of Pisces and his entry into Aries this April 17. Chiron takes 50 years to cycle through all twelve signs, but his orbit is unusual in that he doesn’t spend nearly the same amount of time in each of the signs at all. In fact, his transit of Pisces began eight years ago and his transit of Aries will take nine years.
And while Chiron will retrograde back into Pisces this year, from Sept 25, 2018 until February 18, 2019, he won’t return to Pisces again until 2070. This last pass of Chiron through the last degrees of the last sign, will bring up deeper and deeper levels of our oldest karmic wounds to be healed in a major way. Also, Because Chiron orbits between Saturn and Trickster of Awakening Uranus, his transit will trigger profound soul growth in, at times, unpredictable ways to cosmically shake us up to wake us up to our true nature.
We all come in with karmic wounds to heal, otherwise most of us wouldn’t need to incarnate, and the placement of Chiron in our birth chart—by sign, house and aspects—signifies the nature of that part of us which will call out for repeated attention. To determine how this transit will affect each of us, we also need to look at the house or area of our lives in which the last degrees of Pisces and early Aries resides. As this area is an activation point for what needs to be reevaluated in terms of priorities as our unhealed parts take center stage.
For some of us, the nature of our deepest wounds manifests as variations of body karma or mental illness to be healed. For others, it will be in relation to family, home, work or significant others, to name a few areas where healing may be called for now. But all of these wounds have semi-conscious layers of limiting beliefs and fears that reside in the cellular memory of our karmic or psychic bodies and play out during the incarnation through cyclical challenges on deeper and deeper levels of unwinding, all called out by Chiron’s position in our birth charts, among other factors.
I always say that we are not responsible for our wounds or symptoms arising, we are only responsible to them. And most certainly, nothing less than what painfully arises could get our complete attention, so that we can choose to heal and grow in the weakest areas of our development karmically. Thus, FGOs become a natural part of our lives through just about every season, although occasionally we may get a break. But definitely NOT, with Chiron at 29 degrees Pisces, as it is now and over the next year.
For me personally, the nature of my Chiron wound, or weakest area of development, as it is placed in structure-ruling Capricorn in the 12th house of karma, has to do with cyclical health challenges, mostly of a structural nature. These tend to be quite dramatic, occurring every decade or so, although they do seem to be escalating to get my attention, now that I’m in my mid-60’s and with Chiron in the last pass of Pisces stimulating crises to arise leading to a healing culmination.
In the last month, I’ve been releasing and dissolving a whole slew of symptoms connected through my family karma with my parents, who both passed in the last few years. I’ve learnt that I don’t need to replicate their symptoms to stay connected to them, only remember them with gratitude and love, as well as to continuously cultivate compassion and empathy for those in similarly painful straits.
All my Chironic FGOs have occurred to teach me the same lesson at deeper and deeper levels: To step into the fullest range of psychic power and heal myself through the Higher Mind, while releasing karmic fears and limiting beliefs of this potential. The nature of these health crises has meant that I’ve had to consciously choose to go against the grain of the mass consciousness, standard western medical advice, and the labeling of symptoms as dis-eases, and so forth. In other words, “Physician heal thy self.”
This means that I’ve had to be vigilant about not giving away my power to medical “authorities” with predictions of progressive illnesses or other debilitating health conditions that in their belief systems are irreversible. And each time, I’ve learnt greater lessons of self-healing and how to manage my symptoms in an empowering way through mind/body and spiritual practices, as well as with much help and support from my holistic team of chi gung healers, acupuncturists, massage therapists and chiropractors, to name a few.
And so, it has been in my latest health “emerging-see.” Obviously, with Chiron retrograding back into Pisces one more time this year for five months, I will still be continuously tested on my abilities to maintain this new level of healing my deepest chronic wounds by not giving away my power, as will we all be tested in the areas where our innermost karmic weak spots lie.
As Seth says: “We create our own reality.” And furthermore:
“If you imagine dire circumstances, ill health, or desperate loneliness, these will be automatically materialized, for these thoughts themselves bring about the conditions that will give them reality in physical terms. If you would have good health, then you must imagine this as vividly as in fear you imagine the opposite.
You create your own difficulties. This is true for each individual. The inner psychological state is projected outward, gaining physical reality. The rules apply to everyone. You can use them for your own benefit and change your own conditions once you realize what they are.”
While I totally agree with the above metaphysical philosophy theoretically, it’s much more easily said than done to consciously manifest the most positive outcomes in our bodies and personal realities, but that is what the present transit of Chiron’s swansong in Pisces is inspiring us to do. Even Jane Roberts, the trance channel of the Seth books, died in hospital in her 50’s from complications from rheumatoid arthritis, while still channeling her last Seth book, The Way Toward Heath.
Rereading this book for me in the last year was especially poignant, as a trance channel for 45 years myself and dealing with my own challenges to walk my talk and integrate my ability to help others heal psychically with the weakest link in this chain: Healing myself.
Adding to the potentials for drama this Spring, please remember to make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened as, come May 2018, Trickster of Awakening Uranus moves into safety and security-ruling Taurus. I can’t think of too many signs Uranus would be unhappier in as he is considered in “fall” in earthy Taurus. Uranus is “exalted” in the opposite sign of transformative Scorpio, where “out with the old, in with the new” is more the norm.
But in unadventurous, comfort-loving Taurus, Uranus is sure to play havoc as he blows us out of any ruts we’ve started decorating. This means that, until April 2026, many of our most cherished attachments of what we think we “need” to fully enjoy ourselves may be tested as life presents us with some entirely new paradigms. So, we may be forced to reexamine how important our comfort zones have become at the expense of stretching and growing our beings deeper and wider.
The first year of any outer planet transit in a new sign, such as the Uranus cycle in Taurus about to begin, always sets up the gist of the themes that will be playing out over the next eight years. Before going further, it’s a good time to paraphrase a quote by Ram Dass: The only certain thing in life is that one day we will all drop our bodies (without losing our minds or consciousness), and that it is “absolutely safe:).”
So, what to do? We need to prepare for the unexpected, especially in terms of our material resources, as this is not the best time to gamble or take risks with more money than we can afford to lose and still be able to provide for ourselves.
On the inner levels, the way to go is in surrendering to complete unpredictability as the perfect accelerant for cultivating flexibility in the Flow of Life with maximal growth.
